Eva Szumilas, born in Poland, she is 100% Polish and Lebanese at heart, she came to Lebanon few years ago fell in Love with the city and established her design studio here .

Eva studied architecture at Technical University of Wroclaw, Poland; where she graduated with a Master Degree in Architecture and City planning in 2002 .

She has successfully connected her passion and love for design and traveling.

Since 2004 she has been living and working in Cyprus, Ireland and Lebanon.

She has moved to Beirut in 2010 where she has established her design studio few years later . She has been working as furniture and product designer and as an architect since then.

Her work is a poetry of functionality with powerful aesthetics, is fueled by her life experiences, background and passions influenced by both Middle Eastern and European Cultures.

Her Furniture collection is back to the essence of design, in spirit of art decorative where the aim is beauty, aesthetics, purity and elegance.

This timeless, pure and discreet design is easy to love and integrates harmoniously in any space.

Nobel Materials and advance craftsmen techniques are used to manufacture the pieces.

Her work has been shown in Paris and London at Pavilion of Arts & Design and published in few international magazines: AD France, AD Germany, AD Middle East, Taschen and others.

The Interview :

How you had  the idea of your business?

After several years of working as an architect I felt drained and frustrated. I needed a change. I was lucky to collaborate with one of the best interior architects Gregory Gatserelia who helped me to discover the world of design and art and believed in my talent. He asked me to design furniture for his clients and this is how it started. For the first time I felt that this is what I love and what I’m passionate about. With time and more happy clients and more orders I realized it was a time to establish my own business.

People with passion and willingness of changing their lives, hard workers who follow and achieve their dreams.

What are the important turning points in your life?

Leaving Poland after graduating from university.

What are your favorite?

Taste vanilla ice cream

Scent forget me not flowers

Feel rays of sun on my skin after swimming

What is your current state of mind?

Peace of mind.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement is yet to come.

What is your most marked characteristic?

Talking about my design, I believe my furniture have unique personal style, easily identifiable as mine.

Mine 🙂 

What do you most value in your friends?

Loyalty, tolerance, openness and honesty.

Who are your heroes in real life?

My husband for everything he does in life.

What is your ultimate dislike?

Envy, ignorance, cockiness, exalt.

What you wish for all the time?

Health.

What do you expect from the future?

I never expect anything, I hope for inner peace, love and success.

Casual with a twist.

What things in life are still a mystery to you? 

The power of love and faith.

The best and the worst is another pair of shoes 🙂
