A Sculptor is a passionate person; his passion is shapes and forms of anything,of everything.

It is the perception of his space transforming stone into new discoveries.

It is intelligence, a tangible proof of how spectacular is the world we live in.

It is the shadow of the divine perfection, a spiritual experience, reflecting the era in which the artist lives, a continuum of our existence.

Dr. El Hourany is an artist, musician, sculptor, architect (DES ALBA) and urban planner (MS LU).

He holds a (PhD) after his doctoral research treating the problematic of the parametric design in the age of cybernetics, at the MIT in cotutelle with the UQAM .

He is also titular of two bachelors in philosophy (BA LU) and musicology (BA McGill).

Since 1999, Dr. Hourany has been working on several architectural and urban planning projects in Lebanon and abroad.

He teaches and lectures in different research institutes and universities (Canada, USA and Lebanon).

«Using morphing and mutation tactics, my sculptures are not pretending to be a particular innovative aesthetic. It looks much more at the overall interplay between the initial idea/sketch and the used wood or material. In its abundance making, a procedural experimentation is the origin of the unpredictable forms. As such, experimentation in sculpture has nothing to do with neither composition nor style. In whichever creation process, it has to do with no‐finality, with the perpetual path to another form; it provokes what comes after, what appears, and what will be seen. It can spontaneously absorb additions, subtractions, and technical modifications, without disturbing its essential order. » Dr. Hourany for selectionsarts.com

Dr. Hourany for archileb.com
