At the age of 26 George Chartouni is a well known Lebanese food creator and culinary consultant, the youngest chef to have reached advanced positions in the MENA region and Africa with already more than 10 years of experience.
I met him up with his fiancée, a great couple .
He is genuine, honest, hard worker, serious and dedicated to his passion.
His grandmother Asmaa Gergy (known as Emm Tony) worked as a chef since the 70’s and she was his inspiration and his daily motivation even after her passing. He owes his success to her teachings.
He worked his way up the culinary world ladder starting his studies in the faculty of Hospitality Management at la Sagesse University and various trainings in famous restaurants around the globe :

Jun Yukimura’s Azabu Yukimura – Tokyo,
Chef Frederic Moreau.
Every detail counts in his dishes from the concept, to the presentation and of course the taste.
He participated in the second season of The highly rated culinary show Top chef in its Arabic version and reached the finale.
Actually he is a culinary consultant and food creator around the MENA region sharing his expertise in French, Italian, Chinese, International and Oriental fusion cuisines.

How you turned out to be a food creator and culinary consultant?
I was an admirer of my grandmother who used to be a great chef and was fond of cooking and food since a young age because of her and it became my passion.

Your Role models (any field)?
My Grandmother and Grant Achatz.
What are the important turning points in your life?
Top Chef and my Grandmother passing when I was abroad for Top Chef shooting, it was a terrible and painful incident that led me to question all my assertions.
What are your favorite?
Taste : Olive Oil

What is your current state of mind?
My Grandmother.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My engagement to the woman I love.

Honesty and being straight forward.

Who are your heroes in real life?
My dad.
What is your ultimate dislike?
Faking and anyone who argues about a subject that they don’t know anything about.
What you wish for all the time?
My Marriage and meeting Grant Achatz.
What do you expect from the future?
Creating a new Lebanese food concept reinventing the Lebanese traditional dishes as a tribute to Emm Tony’s Heritage and Legacy.
